1950's

The After-War Style

The after-war style continued into the 1950's. However, in this decade, different aspects of the style arose. One of them was pedal pushers. Pedal pushers are pants that go down to the midpoint of your leg, between your knee and ankle. Also, tight dresses and 3/4 skirts stayed in style.

The Teenage Style

This is the first time in history where teen style took over all other styles of the decade. Teens wore tight sweaters with circular puffy skirts. These skirts are more commonly known as poodle skirts. They also brought pumps into style, which have been a very popular teen style ever since then.
