1960's

The Unisex Style

This is the first time that there is no difference in men and womens fashion. Never before was there a style that was unisex. One part of this style was that there were a lot of flowered clothing, for example, a flowered skirt. Fringed suede coats were also very popular. Another type of jackets was the velvet jacket. The famous bellbottoms also originated during this period. All of these styles were sometimes decorated with beads and Indian print.

The Mod Style

The mod style invented the mini skirt. Never before would a women dare to wear a very short and tight skirt in public. Not only did people Stand out because of the skirts but also because of the bright colors. However, after a while, the only people that stood out were the people not wearing this style.

Hi!!! I find these two styles to be very interesting. In my opinion, most people look back on these styles and think that they are very ugly. Most people wouldn't be caught dead wearing an outfit that was in the unisex or mod style. Yet it was in this time period, extremely popular!!! Let's go see the 1970's.
