1910's

The Oriental Style

The oriental style was one of the styles of the 1910's. Many women would wear softly draped dresses. This style helped the United States with cultural blending. No longer did you walk down the street and automatically know what culture people were from by the look of their clothes; many people experimented with different cultural clothing. The oriental style was one of the most popular of these cultural styles.

The War Style

The war style came along during World War 1. When the men went off to war, the women had to take the mens places. The women couldn't work in their softly draped dresses, so they had to adopt more practical clothing. This actually became a popular style for women.

hey guys!! These styles are pretty cool, right?! The oriental style is so great because of what it did for blending cultures. Isn't it amazing how much fashion can impact countries like that? The war style is really interesting also. Fashion of the 1910's proves that history affects fashion (war style) and fashion affects history (oriental style). Let's go see the 1920's
