WhereTo Buy?

The best place to buy is on a trusted online site. You can use the T-Station buide. Overall, Minidisco is the best place, but Hyperjack and Planet Minidisc are also good sites. At stores you probably don't have much of a variety, and if they do, they are old models and sitll expensive. Another thing you may come across is that many of the models I have suggested are not for sale any place. Many are not for sale everywhere because some only are in Japan. Which? I do not know. And rememver, the rankings are just MY opinion.

Which Is Best For Me?

If you don't care about having the worlds smallest, best battery life, etc. minidisc player or recorder, do not get the top-of-the-line, unless your budget is very flexible. I suggest, if you're planning on purchasing your first minidisc, that you get a cost-reduced recorder. This doesn't mean it's bad....I mean, it's still small. And if you put appearance in as a factor, that's fine. Most in the same class are similar. Getting a cost-reduced player might later be useful, for you could get a top-of-the-line player to carry around, and the recorder just to record at home. You also might consider getting a minidisc home deck, so you could hook it up around you house.
